When it comes to wine shopping, the endless rows of bottles can often be overwhelming, especially for the inexperienced. Red Tongue’s sixth wine boutique offers a streamlined experience, focusing solely on the customer and their wine selection process. The design of the store condenses function and information into a minimal space, making it easier for customers to navigate and choose their desired wines.

Intriguing Design

The boutique’s design was inspired by the hidden wine cellar of a Swiss winery, with a focus on rousing curiosity while not concealing it. By offering only a glimpse of the wine bottles, the common passerby is intrigued to take a closer look. The approach to materials was simple, utilizing the wine bottle itself to create the space’s color scheme and aesthetic.

Curated Selection

Red Tongue’s wine boutique features 500 curated bottles, each with its own compartment on the shelf, complete with a product tag and number for easy identification. The shelves are rounded and serve as both an exterior framework and interior display. Each compartment has a width and depth of 200 millimeters, compared to the usual 100 by 100 millimeters in other wine boutiques.

Member Benefits

At Red Tongue, regular customers can take advantage of member benefits. Every season, a new selection of 100 different wines is featured at a special price for members. To make the ordering process easier, the wines are numbered for easy identification and re-ordering.

QR Codes for Convenience

Customers can browse the racks with ease and scan QR codes for additional information about each wine. The center table serves as the checkout and tasting area, where customers can write down the desired wine’s number and quantity without having to lug around heavy bottles throughout their visit.

The Wine and the Customer

At Red Tongue’s wine boutique, the focus is solely on the customer and the wine. By coordinating the shelves, ceiling, and floor with similar beige tones, the wine bottles and their labels are brought to the center of attention. The design allows for a streamlined shopping experience, making it easier for customers to choose the perfect bottle of wine.
