If you’re looking for a stunning summer house in Guarujá, Brazil, look no further than this gorgeous 700 m² property located on Iporanga beach. The owners, a young couple and their son, wanted a “hippie chic” style home with modern features, natural finishes, and high-end designer furniture that still felt laidback and comfortable.

House with unique design

To achieve this vision, the project team had to completely remodel the layout and expand the built area, which presented some challenges due to the property’s location in an environmental preservation territory. The team needed to obtain approvals from the condominium and public sector and adhere to restrictions on building beyond the established concrete structure.

Despite these challenges, the team was able to deliver a spacious and unobstructed living room that seamlessly integrates with the swimming pool, a master suite, and an additional bedroom. The ground level provides direct access to the garden and underwent changes to improve natural lighting and cross ventilation.

The house is divided into two floors, with the ground floor dedicated to social, leisure, and service areas plus four suites, while the second floor has two suites, including the master suite. The living room features tall windows, a fireplace, integration with the barbecue area and swimming pool, and doors that open completely to create a “living patio” overlooking the green landscape.

The leisure area features a sauna covered in stone and a barbecue that can be integrated into the living room or separated with sliding doors. The swimming pool is camouflaged with vegetation, and the TV room features a warm wooden panel and lining. The bedrooms are minimalist with few elements but large openings facing the garden. The master suite includes a bed area, TV room, office, closet, and balcony, all in a single room, providing a private retreat for the couple.

The house features a beautiful collection of Brazilian art and design, including pieces by Sergio Rodrigues, Jader Almeida, Carlos Motta, Claudia Moreira Salles, and a painting by Aldemir Martins in the dining room.

Throughout the house, cumaru wood and stone are the predominant finishes, keeping in line with a light palette. If you’re searching for a unique and stunning summer house that seamlessly blends modern luxury with a laidback atmosphere, this “hippie chic” style house in Guarujá is the perfect fit.
